Supporting Gen Z Mental Health

  • Oct 12
  • 2 min read

By 2025, Generation Z will constitute 27% of the workforce, yet they are confronting unprecedented mental health challenges.

  • Well-being is a daily part of their lives for Gen Z, committed to diversity and Inclusion.

  • Want to be part of a broader culture where they also have a voice. This all ties into the psychological safety and psychosocial factors in the workplace.

  • The transition from high school to their first job can often be quite challenging. Many find less support for mental health illnesses and challenges in the workplace compared to school. Disclosing their condition to a workplace can have adverse consequences they haven't experienced before.

  • Young people are often surprised by the stigma from other workers, including workers from different generations. There may be a need for supported discussions about a worker's expectations in the workplace.

  • Younger workers say they don't always know when or how to ask for support, so it's really important for managers to make space and time to check in more regularly with them. This ensures they are performing tasks correctly, getting the support they need, and feeling comfortable to speak up when necessary.

For any workplace with Gen Z as part of its team, this will be 40 minutes of viewing that offers clarity on some Gen Z 'whys', practical tips, and shared experiences.
