Our Minds at Work (OMAW)

Building healthier workplaces through connection, prevention, and care

Who we are

Our Minds at Work (OMAW) is a wellbeing organisation focused on preventing harm before it becomes injury in workplaces and communities. We work at the intersection of psychosocial safety, peer connection, and practical wellbeing, supporting organisations to move beyond crisis-response models and toward sustainable, people-first cultures.

OMAW is not a single program or training product. We are an umbrella framework that brings together trusted partners, evidence-informed approaches, and practical tools to support mental health across the whole continuum – from everyday resilience to early support and escalation when needed.

What we are trying to achieve

Our aim is to help workplaces:

  • Reduce psychosocial risk early, not just respond after harm occurs

  • Normalise connection and help-seeking as part of everyday work

  • Support peer supporters and leaders, not overload them

  • Align wellbeing activity with WHS expectations, including SafeWork NSW guidance on prevention and early intervention

  • Create lasting cultural change, not one-off training events

We believe resilience is not about “toughing it out”, but about having the right support, language, and systems around people. Training alone is no longer enough. OMAW exists to connect training to systems, culture, and care – so that good work actually makes a difference.

Our Values

We truly believe in putting' People First" - It's the heart of everything we do!

This approach has been a wonderful game-changer for us and our partners, allowing us to focus on what really matters: the needs of individuals alongside our business goals.

When we say 'People First,' we envision an environment where every voice is valued, collaboration flourishes, and our decisions reflect the well-being and values of our team and community. This mindset not only boosts productivity but also helps build a culture rooted in trust and respect.

Our Minds at Work would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, waterways and skies on which we live and operate, the Darug people of the Eora nation- and pay respects to all First Nations people past, present and emerging.

We recognise, value and celebrate diversity and act in the spirit of Inclusion
